Indian Springs is a crag
that is located in Northern California 20 minutes west of the Donner summit area. There are numerous climbs at Indian Springs
from 5.2 to 5.11. This is a great beginner to intermediate area
with traditional, sport and top rope climbing.
If you are a new climber who is just
looking to venture out of the rock gym to top rope outside then
Indian Springs is a good place to start. There are numerous top
rope climbs from 25' to 90' high.
Looking to do your first trad or
sport lead or just want to try a new area? This is the place to
be. There are trad leads 5.3 to 5.7+ and sport leads 5.9 to
5.11. You could easily spend a couple of days climbing here.
Indian Springs is south facing so
you can climb early in the spring and well into the fall. It's
pretty warm in the summer so climb early and hang out by the
South Yuba River in the afternoon. There are a couple of nice
swimming holes in between the rapids.
